Busy week almost over

It`s Thursday here and while I only have 5 classes, they`re spread out from 10am until 8:30pm with a couple of long breaks in the middle. It makes for a long day. I try to do some housework or dinner prep in between classes, but it doesn`t always happen. This morning I had a trial lesson for my mom & baby class and they decided to join! So my day started off great! After that I went to Curves and got my workout in for the day which always feels good. This afternoon I have 2 kindergarten classes from 2:30 - 4:30 then I have a 2 hour break before 2 more lessons. Tomorrow is going to be a long day too. YMCA class from 9-2; Curves at 3:00 then class from 5:30-7:30. Saturday is the class Christmas party in the morning and dinner party with moms at night. Sunday is the YMCA Charity Run which will be over by around noon. So needless to say, I`m really ready for Sunday at noon to be here! 2 weeks from now I`ll be in the air somewhere over the Pacific! I can`t wait to see my mom, dad,...

Dreary Monday

It`s Monday here. The weekend flew by. I was busy and out all day Saturday and on Sunday I had a Japanese exam. It was long and hard and made my head hurt. I was exhausted by the time I got home in the evening. Today I feel very blah. I did get to Curves and get my workout in though which helped a little. Sadly when I came back home the blah feeling came right back. I think it`s because my house is a mess and I haven`t had much time to clean it. I suppose I should be cleaning now rather than blogging or browsing the internet, but oh well. I have a busy week this week with work. We have a Christmas party on Saturday morning for kids and Saturday night for their parents. It makes for a long day! And it means one more day that I could be cleaning and can`t. What are you gonna do?! My goal is to get to Curves 4 times this week: M T Th and F. It shouldn`t be hard. I`ve been averaging around 4 times a week since I started in October! OK, I will do a little cleaning and eat lunch before...

It`s been awhile

One of my biggest flaws is my inability to continue things. I am so bad about not writing on here for a long time. I think about blogging often, but I never actually take the time to sit down and do it. I don`t know why! It`s not like it takes a long time or anything. Anyway, quick update... I joined Curves in October, October 6th to be exact. After 3 weeks it was already time to do measurements and I had lost a few centimeters (we`re metric in Japan) from my waist and my thighs!! I was pretty pleased with the result! Our next measurement check is between December 1-5 so I`m anxious to see how I`ve progressed. My weight isn`t changing so much yet, but they say it takes around 3 months for the muscle to build and after that happens you`ll start to see changes in weight. I can definitely tell a difference in my body though and I`m certain my centimeters will mostly all be smaller than last time! I`m flying home in 21 days!! The last time I was home for Christmas was 2009 so I`m ...

Ready for a good week...

We got back from the father in law`s surgery on Tuesday afternoon. I had a class that evening and Koichi had to go to the office. Wednesday was a super long day for me, as usual. Thursday was pretty long too, but good. I was exhausted though and didn`t get any housework done. Luckily on Friday a friend came to visit and that motivated me to clean! I stayed home yesterday and got a bit of cleaning done as well and now I feel caught up again. I even got my 3 runs in for the week, although not on the planned days. This evening I prepared vegetables to throw in the slow cooker tomorrow morning to make vegetable soup. I also prepared some healthy snacks for me to munch on throughout the week. I didn`t buy any potato chips (my weakness) when we went grocery shopping today! It`s 8pm now and I`m aiming to be in bed by 10pm and up at 6am tomorrow. It`s going to be a good week!

Out of touch

We've been out of town since Friday night. It's Tuesday morning here now. Koichi's dad is having surgery for prostate cancer as I type. He didn't want to worry the family so they didn't tell anyone until his doctor threatened to call us on Friday, the day he checked into the hospital. It should all be ok, apparently the hospital we're at does 200 prostate cancer surgeries a year! Heading home this evening an hopefully back to my running routine and posting here ASAP!

Easy Tuesday

I like Tuesdays because I finish my work day at 5:30pm and get to come home to enjoy a relaxing evening. Mondays and Wednesdays are quite long so it`s nice to have a down day in the middle. Today was even easier than usual because my 4:30 private lesson student cancelled so I used the time to make some cards to practice fruit names. My goals for the month are going pretty well so far! I started the couch to 5K running program again last week. I even deleted all my previous data from the app so I could get a total fresh start this time around. As of yesterday`s run my total kilometers was 13.44 and my fastest kilometer was 8:51. I`ve been wearing my pedometer everyday again too and keeping the numbers in a memo on my phone. My average for the month as of Sunday night was just under 8000 steps per day! My daily goal is 8000 which is the equivalent of about 4 miles and if I reach my goal there`s a little guy jumping up and down on the screen! I made a menu for the entire month of ...

Time for bed

It`s 11:00 Wednesday night here and I need to get to bed. Wednesdays are super long for me. I work at the YMCA from 9:15 - 12:15 and then I come home for lunch. I then teach from 4:30-8:30 at my classroom. On days like this all I can say is thank goodness for my slow-cooker! Tonight while I was working, it was keeping lasagna warm for me and when I got home around 8:40 this evening I was able to eat right away. I love that :) I got out for my second run this week this morning! I have also studied kanji 2 days in a row! I love the app I bought a couple of days ago. I think it will definitely help me! Ok, my eyelids are getting lower and lower so I`ve got to stop here for now... Have a great Wednesday wherever you are!
