The day before Noa and I came back to Japan I purchased a Silhouette Cameo 3 machine from the local Hobby Lobby. My mom wrapped the box in brown paper that night and I was able to check it with our luggage for the flights back over here. Luckily it arrived safely and I have been enjoying using it since we got back. In all honesty, I was scared to use it at first and used the fact of me not having a place for it to stay permanently as an excuse not to get it out of the box. Luckily one day I got over that fear and took it out and just started using it. So far I`ve made 3 shirts, 4 if you count one I haven`t ironed on yet. I also found a wooden block in my craft drawer today and attempted to decorate it with our family name. The vinyl ripped a little though, so I definitely need more practice. It`s hard to design stuff and print and make whatever I have in mind with Noa around all day, so I am hoping to start doing some stuff after she goes to bed at night and really ramp it up when she starts kindergarten in the spring. Machines like this and making things with vinyl aren`t all that popular here, so I feel like if I make some stuff for my friends or for Noa`s friends, then by word of mouth I can get a few customers and start doing some custom stuff too. I am planning to take a class to learn more of the ins and outs of what exactly this machine can do, because I have a feeling that just doing it on my own I`ll never know the true value of it. With Christmas coming up fast I figure it`s the perfect time to really try some stuff out.
Goal #1 - run It`s Monday morning here and I`ve got my first run of the week done! My goal is to get out and run everyday this week M-F and maybe on Saturday too. From Saturday I`m going on a 2 night camping trip with 14 students from the English conversation school where I work. I`m hoping it will be fun, but who knows... This morning I set my alarm for 6:00 to get out and run before Koichi woke up, but that didn`t happen. I ended up getting out of bed around 7:40. I made breakfast so Koichi could eat and then I packed his lunch while snacking on the watermelon that wouldn`t fit in his lunch box. I considered not running since it was already after 8:00. but I decided to just get out there and do it and now I`m glad I did! Goal #2 - eat healthy meals & track food About to make some breakfast now. I`m thinking I`ll make a green smoothie and have 1/4 of an avocado and some sliced tomatoes on the side, may even throw in an egg. Lunch will most likely be chicken taqu...
