Where do the weekends go?
It's like I get home on Friday totally exhausted and pass out around 10pm and the next thing I know it's 6pm Sunday and I'm thinking about dinner and work the next day.
I worked yesterday. I took on a second job because I'm planning to fly home in December with Koichi and again in March by myself for my sister's wedding, so I thought it'd be good to have some extra cash. Koichi was worried about me being too tired after working all week at the kindergarten to work on Saturdays too, but I'm enjoying it. It's about 100 times less stressful than my regular job and the days go pretty quickly. Not to mention the pay is a lot better too. Makes me wish I'd done a little research before starting at the kindergarten, but what can you do?!
Today we decided to head to the beach. We left around 9:30am and stopped to get breakfast on the go and gas and then stuff for sandwiches on the beach. Then when we arrived at the port the parking lot was so full of cars they had to have someone directing traffic. I'd never seen so many cars there before! We talked to the guy directing cars and found out today was the busiest day of the year because of a festival and fireworks show in a neighboring town. He said every other weekend is rather slow and even weekdays are ok, so we decided to do it another day.
In the end we drove over an hour and a half to eat at a "kaiten" (rotating) sushi restaurant. I made a collage of my lunch pics for the Fat Hell Ninjas blog so I can share it here too.
I love working with photos on Picasa!
Last week I got to see Kazuko! She returned home after staying at her parents for just over a month after the baby was born. I was so excited to see her and when I arrived she met me at the door and we hugged for so long! The baby is good and healthy and Kazuko looked great!
Another photo collage! I was their first house guest since they arrived home =)
And now for more memories from my 5 years in Japan...

And now for more memories from my 5 years in Japan...
Mr. Minamino - my mechanic/badminton coach!
Trip home for Christmas. Alaina was 2 and too cute! She's pretending to be asleep here.
Miki came to Texas to spend Christmas with my family. Here she is with my nephew Brayden, then 2.
Awesome package I received from my friend Wade. The DVDs are several seasons of "Will & Grace!"
One of the many ocean views I enjoyed on my drives to school.
Enjoying the ocean view from the pool after being buried in the hot sand.
Picking strawberries! Yummy =)
More to come tomorrow...
Have a great Sunday folks. Mine is almost over =(
