We had a good Saturday.
Breakfast was 2 egg cups, Spanish ham (just pork and salt), & sauerkraut.
After breakfast we went to an English event at the local library with a mom & daughter from our Thursday group. When it was over we decided to have lunch together at the mall near our place. I bought a salad in the grocery store and we met at the food court where I got Noa`s lunch and I bought a burger with just bread and meat and I just ate the meat. No pic!
After we got home we decided to go do a little sightseeing. We purchased a special notebook to collect seals from different shrines and temples at the shrine next to our place. Then we headed to another shrine I have been wanting to visit because they have hydrangeas blooming this time of year. The flowers were beautiful! We also got a seal from that shrine to go in our notebook. We decided that would be a good hobby for us while we live in Kyoto because there are so many shrines and temples.
Noa and the dark blue hydrangeas. What a gorgeous color! Her straps kept falling down all day which was frustrating because the outfit fits her perfectly otherwise.
After the shrine visit we parked the car at home and rode our bikes to the area near the station for dinner. We wanted to go to a "yakitori" (grilled chicken & other meats on sticks) place, but there was a wait so we went to the restaurant on the floor below where there was no wait. I did my best to order stuff that would be ok on Whole 30.
Daikon salad with ume (Japanese plum) seasoning and a minced tuna dish
Meat on sticks seasoned with salt rather than the sauce which I know has sugar in it.
This was pretty much the extent of what I could eat and I did pretty good except for the fact that I ordered a plate of fried cheese sticks which were cheese wrapped in won-ton wrappers and fried. I don`t know what came over me because I have been doing so good.
